MCT oil - medium-chain triglycerides
MCT oil consists of saturated fatty acids with 6-10 (and according to some sources up to 12) carbon atoms, most commonly extracted from coconut oil, palm oil or milk fat. Although saturated, MCT differs from other fatty acids in this group due to its different digestion route: it travels directly from the digestive system to the liver via the portal vein, entering the bloodstream more quickly, similar to glucose. Digestion does not require lipase or bile, which favours processing speed. MCT oil contains fatty acids such as caproic acid (6 carbons), caprylic acid (8 carbons) and capric acid (10 carbons). Often used as an ingredient in vitamin supplements - as a fatty acid source, MCT oil supports the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins. Provides an energy source; its neutral taste and aroma make it popular for ketogenic diets, for example as an ingredient in bulletproof coffee. MCT oil is also used in cosmetics for skin and hair care.

Suggested use: consume two servings of 12 g (2 tablespoons) per day between meals. The recommended dose can be increased by 12 g every 3 days to reach the optimal dose tailored to individual needs. Consuming a single dose larger than 100 g may cause gastrointestinal discomfort.
