OstroVit Taurine 300 g - source of a unique compound
Taurine - also known as 2-aminoethanesulphonic acid - is an organic chemical compound, a biogenic amino acid. It belongs to the beta-amino acid group and, unlike alpha-amino acids, does not form peptide bonds and is not incorporated into proteins; it is therefore classified as a non-protein amino acid.
Most taurine is found in heart muscle, skeletal muscle, the brain, retina and platelets. The body can produce taurine from sulphur-containing amino acids (cysteine and methionine), but endogenous production is not sufficient to meet total requirements. External supplementation is therefore recommended, for example through daily diet - found in fish, seafood, dried seaweed and meat, or as a food supplement.
Taurine is popular among physically active consumers, so taurine-containing supplements are particularly recommended for athletes.
Suggested use: Mix 3 g (1/2 scoop) in 100-150 ml water or juice. On training days, consume one serving 15 minutes before training.
