What is butyric acid and why does it matter?
Butyric acid (butanoic acid) is a short-chain saturated fatty acid naturally produced in the body during fermentation of undigested carbohydrates - primarily from resistant starch, inulin, lactose and other polyols.
It is also present in small quantities in milk, dairy products and silage feed, but dietary intake from these sources is limited.Butyric acid from food breaks down in the upper digestive tract. The OstroVit capsules use an enteric microcapsule format to ensure that the active ingredient reaches the small and large intestine where it can be utilised.
Suggested daily intake: 2 x 1 capsule daily with meals, swallowed with plenty of water.Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
